Here's an interesting thought. Mets fans are put in a peculiar position this evening. While of course we will always root for the Mets to win, we must also root for the Yankees. How strange but think about. The Yankees are in Philadelphia for a three game series starting this evening. "We want to bury them..." is what Paul Lo Duca said last week on the outset of the Mets - Phillies series. Hey I don't want to root for the Yanks but who am I to argue with Paul Lo Duca. You want to see the Mets increase their lead over the Phillies. In order for that to happen over the next few days, while the Mets are hopefully beating the Reds, the Yankees must be winning against the Phillies.

But don't fret for Yankee fans will be put into a similar situation next week when the Mets will be playing the Red Sox for three games at Fenway Park.  Can you imagine those arrogant, self-entitled Yankee fans rooting for the Mets? Of course after the Red Sox series, order in the universe will be restored when the Mets travel to the Bronx for subway series II. Or will the universe cease to exist as we know it?
