In my quest to find something good related to yesterday's Mets game, here it is-Jorge Julio, that's right. Yep, he got the loss, and yes, he should have gotten that pitch to Phillips down but consider this. He should have never been in that game yesterday. The game should have been over. He pitched well in the 10th and one pitch made the difference in the 11th. There were 56,000 plus at Shea in a very meaningful game because it was against the Yankees. I would have expected Julio to pitch the way Wagner did in the ninth which of course was dreadful. He didn't, he pitched good in a very difficult pressure filled situation. I would like to think his performance yesterday will pay dividends in the future.

All the talk about Randolph vs. Wagner this morning. Look, maybe Willie should have left in Sanchez but I think it's reasonable to assume with a four run lead you expect your closer to get three outs. I don't buy this adrenaline crap! Wagner's a professional, he should be able to get three outs with a four run lead for goodness sakes regardless of the situation.

It will be interesting to see how the Mets rebound tonight because yesterday's game was the most devastating loss suffered by this current group. With the Phillies up next this would not be a good time to go into a losing streak. Hopefully the Mets will get over this game quicker than I will.

Thanks to the Red Sox and Diamondbacks, the Mets lead over the Phillies and Braves remain at 3 and 4.5 games respectively.

Micheal Pelfrey did not get out of the first inning last night against Altoona. He gave up two runs while he walked the ballpark. He was clocked at 96mph!
