The Hawaii Winter Baseball League is under full swing. This league is similar to the Arizona Fall League but does not field the same level of talent. There are four teams in the two division league, two teams in each division. The HWBL started play on September 27. They play a 40 game schedule that concludes on November 15.
The Mets have placed seven players on the Honolulu Sharks. The Sharks play in the Eastern Division and currently lead with a 5-2 record. Like the Arizona Fall League, the teams in the Hawaiian league are made up of prospects from several teams. The Mets players on the Sharks roster include Greg Volez, 2B (Sav, SLu); Ruben Tejada, SS (SLu); Jordon Abruzzo, C (Sav, SLu, Bro); John Stinson, RHP (SAV, SLu); Scott Shaw, RHP (Bro); Roy Merritt, LHP (SLu, Bro); and Junior Guerra, RHP (SLu, Sav, App, Bro).
